The short version: Foldeon has no account, no ads and no tracking, and it never uses the microphone. The only outside service is RevenueCat, which checks whether you have bought Pro.
What stays on your iPhone
Your settings and calibration — the chosen instrument, register, note names, sensitivity and how the bellows were calibrated. They are stored on the device and never sent anywhere.
Motion and hinge data — the tilt of the phone (or the hinge angle on iPhone Duo) is read while you play, only to move the bellows. It is not stored — except as the movement of the bellows inside a performance you choose to record.
Recordings — when you record a performance, the sound and the movement of the keys and bellows are saved to a temporary folder on your iPhone and made into a video there. The recording is not uploaded anywhere; the video leaves the device only if you share it yourself. Each time Foldeon starts it removes recordings older than a day, and iOS may clear them sooner.
What Foldeon does not do
No account, sign-in or registration.
No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
No tracking across apps or websites.
No microphone, camera, location, contacts or health data.
Purchases and RevenueCat
Foldeon Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. Foldeon uses RevenueCat to confirm the purchase and to restore it on your other devices. For that, RevenueCat receives the App Store purchase receipt and an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID. It does not receive your name or email, and the data is not used for advertising or tracking. Apple handles payment; Foldeon never sees your payment details.
Saving and sharing videos
If you choose “Save Video” in the share sheet, iOS asks for permission to add the video to your Photos library. Foldeon can only add to Photos; it cannot read your library.
Children
Foldeon is rated 4+ and collects nothing beyond what is described above for anyone, including children.
