Noise, made on the phone, for as long as you like
QuietSea has no audio files in it. Every sound is synthesised on your iPhone as it plays, so nothing loops, nothing streams, and it will run for five seconds or eight hours with the same calm.
How it works
- Pick a soundWhite, pink, brown, ocean, rain or binaural.
- Set a timer, or don'tFifteen minutes, an hour, eight hours — or play until you stop it.
- Let it fadeWhen the timer ends the sound fades out gently, over a length you choose, instead of stopping dead.

Ocean is pink noise that swells and settles like waves; rain is a pattern of droplets over a soft hush. Binaural plays a slightly different tone in each ear and needs headphones.
Why generated, not recorded
A recording of the sea is a clip, and a clip loops — after a while you start to hear the seam. Generated noise never repeats, and it takes almost no space on the phone.
Honest about the limits
- A sound, not a treatment. It can mask noise and help you settle; it does not treat sleep problems or tinnitus.
- Binaural needs headphones. Through a speaker, both ears hear both tones.
- It never listens. QuietSea does not use the microphone. No account.
