What this policy covers

This policy describes how the Giftwise iOS app (the "App"), published by Ilia Filiaev (the "Developer"), handles your information.

Data we collect

None that identifies you. The App has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no servers operated by the Developer. We never see the names, birthdays, photos, notes, or gift lists you enter.

Data the App stores on your device

• People and dates. Names, birthdays, occasions, photos, notes, relationships, and interests you add are stored locally using SwiftData.
• Gift data. Wishlists, gift statuses, prices, budgets, and your gift history are stored locally.
• Preferences. Reminder settings, themes, and similar options are stored locally.

Contacts (optional)

If you choose "Import from Contacts", the App reads the contacts you select — only to copy their name and birthday into the App, on your device, one time. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, and the App never modifies your contacts. You can also use the App fully without granting Contacts access.

Gift ideas are generated on your device

The "Gift Ideas" feature runs entirely on your iPhone. On devices that support Apple Intelligence it uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models; on all other devices it uses a catalog built into the App. In both cases the details you store about a person — their interests, age, or past gifts — are processed on the device and never sent to the Developer or any third-party AI service.

Purchases and subscriptions

Giftwise Pro is an optional subscription (or one-time lifetime purchase) processed by Apple through the App Store. The App uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and unlock Pro features. For this purpose RevenueCat receives the App Store purchase receipt and a random anonymous identifier generated for your device — never your name, email, contacts, or any of the people and gift data you enter. This is the only network communication the App performs.

Face ID (optional)

If you turn on the App lock, the App uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework to ask iOS to verify you. Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS; the App never sees or stores it.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push servers are involved.

Third parties

The App contains no advertising, attribution or tracking SDKs. Apart from the purchase validation described above, no data is shared with anyone, and nothing is ever sold.

Children's privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children or any other users.

Your rights

Because your data lives only on your device, there is nothing for us to access, export, or delete on our side. You can remove all on-device data by deleting the App. Subscriptions are managed in your App Store account settings.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be announced in the App release notes.
