The short version: your goals, challenges and numbers stay on your device. Pennyjar has no account, no ads and no tracking. Purchases go through the App Store and are verified by RevenueCat. This policy covers the whole app: the Goals, Challenges and Cushion tabs.
All of it is kept in the app's own storage on the device. Pennyjar does not sync it to any server or to iCloud. The app and its widget extension share that storage through an App Group on the same device. Like all app data, it is part of your device's own backup if you back the device up.
Reminders are local notifications: Pennyjar schedules them with iOS on the device and sets them again each time you open it. There are three kinds: a goal's reminder on its deposit days, a challenge's weekly reminder and one monthly reminder to update your Cushion numbers. Nothing is sent to a push server. Pennyjar asks for permission to notify you only when you turn a reminder on. Like any notification, a reminder can appear on your Lock Screen depending on your iOS notification settings.
With Pennyjar Pro you can export a CSV file of every goal deposit and withdrawal, and of every challenge deposit. Pennyjar creates the file on the device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. The file leaves your device only if you share it; where it goes next — Files, Mail, another app — is your choice.
Pennyjar Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription, processed by Apple. One purchase unlocks all three parts of the app. Pennyjar uses RevenueCat to confirm the purchase and to restore it on your other devices. For that, RevenueCat receives App Store purchase information and an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID, along with the technical details that its software sends with a request — for example the app and iOS versions, the model of your device, your language and region settings, the country of your App Store account, a vendor identifier that Apple assigns to this developer's apps on your device, and your IP address. RevenueCat does not receive your name, your email or anything you entered in Pennyjar — goal names, amounts, notes or Cushion numbers. Pennyjar does not use any of it for advertising or tracking; how RevenueCat handles the data it receives is set out in its privacy policy. Apple handles payment; Pennyjar never sees your payment details.
The one permission Pennyjar asks for is notifications, and only when you turn a reminder on.
Delete a goal in the app and the goal and its history are removed. Delete the app to remove everything it stored on the device. Copies in your own device backups stay until you delete those backups.
Pennyjar collects nothing beyond what is described above for anyone, including children.
